Faux Bald

The Loser took the train into the city today, his day off, to withdraw cash from his bank, a credit union. Five stops after his a couple with a large amount of baggage got on. The male half of the couple was bald.
"It's nice," the Loser, himself bald, thought, "to see a bald man with a girlfriend."
The two sat in front of the Loser and a closer look showed that the man was not in fact bald but had shaved his head to give that appearance.
Why would anyone do that? I mean, the man wasn't a swimmer who shaved his entire head. Nor was he ill. 
The Loser paid attention to the couple, who kissed often. They seemed theatrical and the Loser concluded that the man had shaved his head to fit a role of some kind. Wouldn't acting be a great job? Imagine ... a winner who looks like a loser.
