Mike Tyson

At the mercy of my failing body and facing a week in which there will be scheduling of things I don't want to schedule—like having my right leg amputated—I find myself retreating into a juvenile fantasy world in which I have super powers.
You know who I'd like to be right now? Mike Tyson, the boxer, in his prime, which was the mid-1980s. At that time, he faced no scandals and boxing (a sport I think should be banned, but this isn't about that) just meant winning, and getting paid ludicrous sums for a few minutes in the ring.
And I remember a quoted response he'd have to criticism: "Ah, fuck y'all!"
Imagine being able to say that to a terminal disease and having it work.
