I remember my grandma complaining about her knees, her back, her aches and pains and me sitting there silently (age 19) and thinking "what is she talking about? knees? how can a KNEE hurt -- short of hitting it on something?"<br /><br />hahahahaha<br /><br />OK -- I am reading this backwards from your latest post to the older ones, but you can't completely deal with recovery from surgery, let alone some of the later stuff that happens to you, by simply stockpiling your house or apartment. Toilet paper, maybe. But you can't get by eating frozen TV dinners and as you say, you WILL forget the salt or pepper or run out of TP or SOMETHING. You need a home health aide, Mr. Loser -- doesn't have to be a licensed professional -- some folks these days look for low paid workers like illegal aliens to do this. You need a strong, youngish body who can cook simple meals, shop for you and clean up the house or you will find yourself hungry, MORE depressed and living in squalor. Expect to pay at least $10 and maybe in your area as much as $15 an hour for this. They don't have to live in or even come daily -- you aren't that old or crippled -- maybe 10 hours a week? You seem financially secure, so you should be able to manage this. HINT: until you know that helper VERY VERY well....keep any cash, checks, credit cards, jewelry, watches, valuable of any sort or desirable drugs locked up tight and keep an eye on the helper. My aunt had a home health aide who robbed her blind, but then she was 91 and had dementia.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
